Perfect your skin
According to a recent study, the number one reason us girls are scared to show off our bodies on the beach is because of our skin. That’s right, cellulite, stretch marks and even a lack of tan, all affect how confident we feel when on the beach. But that doesn’t have to be the case.
Start off by exfoliating your whole body – honey and sugar crystals make a great homemade scrub. Once you’ve exfoliated, the next step is to moisturise, and then apply natural-looking fake tan. Oh, and don’t forget to pop some cellulite masking cream on – this will help to make your skin appear smoother.
Pick swimwear that’s flattering
Swimwear might be quite skimpy and show off a lot of your body, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t feel confident. The key is to work out what areas of your body you want to mask and which areas you’re happy to flaunt.
Every body shape is different, and it’s important to realize that. Because our body shapes are all different, it means that a swimsuit that works for your friend, may not work for you. If, for example, your tummy is your problem area, opt for a swimsuit that sucks your middle in. Or, if your bottom is an area that your don’t like, look at bikinis that camouflage it, such as skirted designs.
Invest in a stylish cover up
If you don’t feel 100 percent confident in just skimpy swimwear, invest in a cover up that you can pop over the top. There are some beautiful kimonos on the market at the moment that are perfect for popping on top of a bikini. Or, if you’d prefer something that gives full coverage, a cute beach dress could be ideal.
Get your hair and makeup perfect
The good news is that if you get your hair and makeup spot on, these are the things that people will notice. Obviously, on the beach, you don’t want to have too much makeup on, but a small amount is fine. Opt to wear BB cream, a little powder, and some waterproof eyeliner, and you can create a beautiful natural look. (To avoid burning your skin, make sure to opt for a BB cream that has added sun protection.)
As for your hair, how you choose to wear it is up to you. Some hair reacts well with sea water while other hair can tangle and frizz. If your hair is prone to tangling or frizzing, your best bet is to wear it up. That way, you don’t need to stress about it, and can just relax. (Don’t forget to spritz it with special hair sun protection before hitting the beach.)
For beach confidence and a look your love, take note of the tips above.
